Our Solutions At Work
Leica Geosystems used in construction survey for City-Tunnel Leipzig with millimeter accuracy |
|
PROJECT: The City-Tunnel Leipzig provides a direct connection from Leipzig’s Bavarian station to points north and south of the city, giving travelers convenient, easy access to Germany’s public transportation system.
CHALLENGE: Build two 1,500-meter shield-driven tunnels and four stations, plus relocate the porticus at the Bavarian station.
THE LEICA GEOSYSTEMS SOLUTION: Positional surveying using Leica TCA 2003 total stations in conjunction with Leica GPS 500 precision prisms and Leica GPS1200 survey station. During underground construction in the west wing of Leipzig’s main rail station, a tacheometric system of 23 Leica TCA 2003 total stations monitored the work for deformation.
RESULT: The positional survey data provided accuracies of approximately 1-2 mm in position and 0.5 mm in level. The tacheometric monitoring system measured 200 deformation points with no interruption in the operation of the rail station.
