Well in advance of Tiger Woods' run for another major victory during the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course (San Diego, CA), the USGA looked to create an entirely different buzz around this prestigious course with photogrammetry and 3D scanning.

Connecting Northwest Surveyors: A unique, privately owned reference station network in Washington serves many purposes as it grows in popularity
The Port of Seattle survey/engineering department used the network in many ways in building the third runway at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. As one example, it was used to calculate volumes for 17 million cubic yards of fill.
