Leica Geosystems Hosts Open House for Machine Automation Technology

Leica Geosystems recently held a Machine Automation Open House to showcase the latest developments in construction industry products, systems and software. The Open House took place October 17 - 18, 2006 in Kansas City, KS.

Nearly 100 customers and dealers received demonstrations from Leica Geosystems representatives from the United States, Australia and Switzerland during the two-day event.

“Several new product releases were featured at the Open House, including SiteSmart and the DigSmart 3D,” said Reynolds Boyd, machine automation Product Marketing Manager for Leica. “Through a partnership with the local John Deere dealer, we equipped a grader, two dozers, an excavator, backhoe and skidsteer with various automation products, including the GradeSmart 3D System. A John Deere Gator™ utility vehicle was outfitted with a System 1200 and SurveCE software to display topographical surveying.”

The Americas region secured a new distributor as a result of this open house, combined with the efforts of the local salesperson, and there are several strong leads the sales group is pursuing.
